F.A.Q.

Thanks for your interest into this special sale. Please read the FAQ carefully.

What is all about?
We are conducting a special sale of collectible items that are particularly rare, or have been unseen until today ! This include handwritten notes, in-house documents, objects that were used in movies or videos, or prototypes.

From where do these items come from?
These collectible items are all original, and most of the time in one copy only. They were created and/or used for Paisley Park or PRN Productions. They may have been offered to staff members, left out after use, or were parts of personal works presented to Prince. All the items presented in this sale have been kept as personal souvenirs for many years, before their original owners decided to let them go. I was recently asked to sell these items, and here they are!

What is your role in this sale?
I am managing the sale. I advertise on the items, answer questions and enquiries, take payments, do the shipping and handling, and all the business.

How much are you paid for this business?
Nothing, all proceeds will go to the original owners. I only do things for fun :) ...and for the pleasure of collecting and dealing with super-rare items !

Are the prices fixed?
Not really. The price asked is what we expect for an item. We suggest you to make a better offer in case several people are interested into the same item. Please make an offer by e-mail only. We will tell you when your offer is received, and accepted or not. Then another round may occur until we have the final buyer. In case you are making an offer lower than the fixed price, we will consider it and keep it in our records. Then we'll decide if we agree to let that item go at that price. Be aware that another person can make a better offer in the meantime!

Why not put the items on eBay and make auctions?
That might be an option for some items. They will be advertised here as well.

How does the sale work?
Items are advertised here first. They might be also advertised on Facebook, Twitter, Schkopi, and other places, with links directed to this blog. If you have questions about the items, please post them in the commentaries of each post, so they might be of interest for others. If you want to buy an item, please contact us first by e-mail to be sure we keep the item for you. Please, never send a direct payment without sending an e-mail first !

How does the payment work?
Items must be fully paid before we ship them. We will use only Paypal for receiving payments. This option is more easy for everyone. Even if you don't have a Paypal account, we can send you an invoice through Paypal and you can use your credit card for an individual payment. This is totally secure. We won't accept international money orders or cash, it's too worrying to handle.

How does handling and shipping work?
Because of the rarety of the items and their high value, we are using a simple solution : handling and shipping worlwide is fully included into the price of the item. So we won't charge you extra money for that. You should consider paying the price of the item, while S&H is supported by us.

Handling will be made in strong enveloppes, or boxes, and well protected. Shipping is made in registered mail. When requested from authorities, official documents for foreign exchanges (CN-22) will be provided. The items will be sent from France, in the next 5 days after payment is received. We will provide you all the information, including tracking numbers when available. Please be aware that even with our best effort in protecting the items, accidents can happen during transport and we will not be responsible for that.

Do you accept returns/exchanges/refunds?
Most of the time, it wouldn't be necessary to go into this. Items are described here as closely as possible. Before you pay, we will make sure that you know what you are going to buy. And as most of the items are available in only 1 specimen, we have no possibility to provide a replacement.

Is it possible to trade items? are you looking for other collectibles?
All the items from this sale are intended to be sold, so we can not do trades for them.

How many items am I allowed to buy? / Why not sell the collection as a whole?
We want this sale to be accessible to everyone. There are expensive items, and some cheaper ones. We would not feel good if someone grabbed all the items, or even most of them. Besides, we want these items to enter the Prince collector's community and not being re-sold by a merchant or something. To avoid this, we reserve the right to limit the sale to 2 items per person.

Are all the items already for sale or there will be others in the future?
There will be several waves of items put on sale in the next weeks. We do this because we believe it is a better publicity for individual items. If all the items were put online at the same time, it will just be too much to handle for everyone. When all the items are gone, this website will be closed.

Who are you and why should we trust you?
In the Prince world, i go under the name of 'Laurent Calhoun'. I live near Paris, France and I've been a Prince fan for more than 30 years. I first listened to him when i was 9. My first ever concert was his show at Le Zenith, Paris, on august 25th, 1986 and i was only 15-year-old ! I've also been a serious collector ever since. It all started when i bought record after record, looking for extended versions and non-album tracks on B-sides. Year after year, my collection grew up and i developped a expertise in Prince / Minneapolis Sound collectibles. I opened my own website, Calhounsquare, in 1998. I became a moderator on the french Schkopi message board in 2002. In the 2000's and 2010's i participed in several radio shows or interviews on french national radios, talking about Prince's activities. I participate on the Schkopi-TV webzine. I am also a DJ and play in Prince/MPLS-Sound parties. So I wouldn't do something that would ruin my reputation or alienate people. I do this sale in true respect of the business of collecting, and with much respect to Prince and all the people who worked with him. Besides, i've been lucky enough to be selected as a trustful partner to do this sale. For such items, that is a great honor to me. Feel free to contact me for more information.
